A man accused of hacking into his former wife's email account after suspecting her of having an affair might face up to five years in prison.
Leon Walker, a computer technician from Michigan, accessed his former wife's email account, when they were still married, after he suspected her of having an affair with her then ex-husband.
While establishing that her wife was indeed having an affair, he also discovered that her former husband, with whom she was having an affair at that time, was once arrested for beating her up in front of her son.
The child in question was from her first marriage and Walker sent the emails to her first husband who instantly moved the courts on the basis of these implicating emails.
The man's wife, after discovering that Walker had accessed her email account without her knowledge, filed a criminal complaint against him with the police.
“The guy is a hacker. [The computer] was password protected, he had wonderful skills, and was highly trained. Then he downloaded them and used them in a very contentious way,” prosecutor Jessica Cooper told the Detroit Free Press.
